Have you and your friends ever wondered what super power you would want to have? Well, Victoria Forester did, and it led her to write a great book.
The Girl Who Could Fly is a very well written book. I cried a ton at the end. It is about a nine-year-old girl named Piper, who can fly. One day a woman named Dr. Letita Hellion arrives at her house. Dr. Hellion takes Piper to a school for people with special abilities. Piper makes lots of new friends with abilities like amazing strength, astonishing speed and unusual intelligence.
If you like adventure books, read this. If you like books about friendship, read this. If you like books starring kids, read this. If you like books, I recommend The Girl Who Could Fly!

Chains is a book about Isabel Finch and her sister, Ruth. Isabel and Ruth are slaves at the time the Revolutionary War is starting. When their master dies, they are sold to a New York couple, the Locktons, who are loyalists with no sympathy for the American Revolution. When a horrible thing happens and Ruth is taken away, Isabel knows she has to escape from the Locktons. With the help of a boy named Curzon, Isabel seeks freedom as a country fights for the same thing. This is a really cool book. It is written well and the characters are very realistic; their feelings and everyday actions pull the reader into their lives. If you like historical fiction, you should read this book.
