Ingredients:
-  3 ¾ cups of sugar
-  1 ½ cups of corn syrup
-  1 cup of water 
-  Powdered sugar
-  1 teaspoon of food coloring
-  1 teaspoon of flavoring oil

Hard Candy
Instructions:
​Boil all ingredients except coloring and flavor until dissolved in a large saucepan. Boil and occasionally stir until temperature reaches 290 degrees to 310 degrees Fahrenheit which is a hard crack.
Remove from heat. Stir in coloring and flavor. Pour onto pan coated with powdered sugar.

Tips: 
Purchase flavoring oil at a pharmacy. They are not food extracts.
If you don’t have a candy thermometer, the sugar solution should harden to long brittle strings when a drop is put in cold water.
