What Goes Around Comes Around
One day Jack was sad and frowned
So he sat quietly and did not make a sound
He was upset because of a nasty old hound.
The hound was dreadful, Jack had found,
He took Jack’s toy and buried it in the ground.
Ten years later Jack was crowned
King of England; Jack liked that sound!
As for the hound, he was sent to the royal pound,
Where he sat in a corner and frowned.
After all, what goes around comes around!
Soccer Ball Haiku
Soccer balls are round
I am going to kick one
It is gonna fly!
Round Cuisine
On my family’s road trip we traveled around the globe
And sampled round cuisine.
We had…
Donuts in America and sushi in Japan,
We had coconuts in the Bahamas and olives in Iran
We had snowballs in Antarctica and pizza in Italy
We had chocolate balls in Belgium, as far as the eye could see,
And we had tacos
In Mexico.
Full of potential
Waiting to burst open
White, brown, speckled, blue
A golden treasure sits inside
You’ll find me everywhere
In the store
At the top of a tree
In a rocky crevice
I’m a delicacy when I come from a quail
Gross when I come from a fish
Perfect from a chicken
Scrambled
Or in cookies
I’m as round as round can be.
The Opers
The candle casts light aRound the room
Opers dance in a CIRCLE
Spinning, spinning, spinning
They twirl until they are out of breath.
They sleep,
Dreaming of
CIRCLES.
