         The English Premier Soccer League
The World Series between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals was one of the most exciting World Series in baseball history.  It took seven games, but the St. Louis Cardinals won their 11th World Series Championship.  It was only the second World Series ever in which a team one strike away from elimination came back and won.

The World Series MVP and National League Championship MVP was third baseman, David Freese.  He batted .348 with seven RBIs, three doubles, and one homer.  In fact, he had the game winning homer in the 11th inning of game six which was thought by many to be one of the best thrillers in baseball history.

David Freese was born on April 23, 1983.  He was born in Texas but raised in St. Louis, becoming a fan of the Cardinals at an early age.  What a coincidence that he played for the team from the state he was raised and against the team from the state he was born.

Check out the World Series scoreboard below:
Game 1:3-2 Cardinals
Game 2:2-1 Rangers
Game 3:16-7      Cardinals
Game 4:4-0Rangers
Game 5:4-2Rangers
Game 6:10-9      Cardinals (11 innings)
Game 7:6-2Cardinals

Manchester United, a very good soccer team in the Premier League in England, has not been doing well. In spite of winning twelve titles in the top flight, they are behind their rivals, Manchester City, by five points.  Manchester United has won 16 titles, including other tournaments, but doesn’t have the talent in the past few weeks from earlier this season.  Manchester United has not been up to expectations with two draws, one loss and only three wins in their last six months.  A year ago, a Mexican international player, Javier Hernandez (Chicharito)   moved clubs to Manchester United with 13 goals in his first season.  He has only scored 4 goals this season by the half way point.
